The role would involve helping Arabic speaking students one-on-one to further their English and complete their homework tasks. Individual help is not limited to Arabic speaking students and may extend to other students.

Instituto Católico Para a Formação de Professores (ICFP) established in 2000 is the main institute offering the Bachelor of Teaching (primary) in Bacau. The Ministry of Education wishes English language to be taught in all primary schools throughout Timor-Leste and ICFP needs to ensure their graduates are up to the task.
As a result, ICFP is seeking a volunteer TESOL specialist to oversee the process of teaching of specialised staff, general staff and trainee teachers, resulting in improved outcomes for years 7, 8 and 9 primary school students. In this assignment you will assess the needs of English language teachers using train the trainer approach, supporting them to implement a programme to support general teaching staff improve TESOL in their courses.
You will also assist ICFP staff in developing and delivering lessons using a child centred approach, demonstrating how to use TESOL at different education levels. Utilising your programme development and teaching experience you will review course materials for cultural and age appropriateness, as well as mentor ICFP students while on practicum in local schools.
Your valuable contribution to this assignment will not only benefit the 37 Timorese staff and 165 teaching students at ICFP, but improve education outcomes and the livelihoods of children and their families.
We are looking for a volunteer with:
· Tertiary qualification in teaching English as a second language for adults

Our students include corporate office workers, professionals, and fulltime students preparing for or attending university. Schedules will typically include a combination of one-to-one, semi-private, and group lessons. The ideal candidate will (1) be a native or native like speaker of English (2) a dedicated team worker.
